LET’DO IT
As a manager one of the greatest tips I have received was to
share and be explicit about what my values are

  • Knowing the people who count
  • You love doing your job. You have to, getting by the Company rules, think about area
of that work you do and make changes to improve:
  • The way you do it
  • How people perceive you doing it.
  • Get on better with your colleagues"Communicate, Don't Blame Others,Support
    Group Member's Ideas,No Bragging,Listen Actively,Get Involved.
  • Feel better with yourself "Listen to the way you talk to yourself,Look your best,
Stand up straight,Examine the energy of your friends,Catalog your positives,Be
    grateful
  • Enjoy your work more"Get so engrossed in your work that you forget about
everything else,Focus on becoming an indispensable asset to your job
  • Understand your job better"what skills you will need for the job and you can better
do it, assess whether you will be able to do it"
  • Understand your boss’s point of view better"Remember that your boss just might
have useful insights,Know your boss’ objectives,Know what your boss expects of you,
Be low maintenance,Don’t surprise your boss,Acknowledge your boss in your
successes,Don’t take criticism personally,Remember your boss has a boss.
  • Take more pride in both yourself and your work"Any job you do is going to "have
your fingerprints all over it." That is why it is so important to take ownership of your
job, any job you do, and really own it. Do it the best you can; do it the best it can be
done. That is how you succeed.
  • Set a good example for junior staf f"Make all the rules and recommendations you
want, but don't lose sight of the fact that your team is led more by your actions"
  • Contribute more for your company"to give examples of what you have
accomplished in the past, and to relate them to what you can achieve in the future."
  • Be valued and respected
  • Spread an aura of goodwill and co-operation around you

These rules are simple and effective; they are steps for building confidence, enhance
personal standards and elevate your individual principals.
Taking advantage of your own abilities, the bottom line is that you must be able to do your job

  • WALK YOUR TALK
  • Get your work noticed
  • Never stand still

  • Volunteer carefully”before you put your hand up to volunteer for anything, think
    very carefully”
  • Carve out a niche for yourself”if the other boss thinks you are a good idea then
your boss really has to go along with it”
  • Under promise over deliver “you will never deliver late or deliver short”
  • Learn to ask why “ I am talking about taking an interest in the whole organisation and
not just your corner of it”
  • Be 100 per cent committed “you are going to have to be vigilant dedicated,
watchful, keen, ready, prepared, cautious, alert and on the ball.
